The next two years are a critical period in UK politics. The last eight years has shown that major public spending increases will not solve the deep-seated problems of the UK’s society and economy. Each major political party is seeking to develop a better way to solve the most important policy challenges: improving public services, accelerating social mobility, raising sustainable economic growth. This is Reform’s mission and charitable purpose. Support for Reform will mean a better and more informed public debate throughout the key years of the rest of this Parliament.

During this key period, the greatest contribution will be made by genuinely independent organisations such as Reform. Political independence means that we are able to address the key issues and to do so free from political restraint. It means that we are able to communicate our ideas to politicians and opinion formers in all parties and none, in order to build a consensus for reform.

Over seven years, Reform has proved itself to be a highly effective, independent research organisation. We have been able to promote new thinking on the most important and controversial domestic political issues. The recent establishment of a sister organisation in Edinburgh – Reform Scotland – shows that we have developed a model that works.
