John Hemming is Britain’s brainiest MP

This is the verdict of a think-tank which organised maths quizzes at the recent party conferences.
Delegates at the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat gatherings were set a series of questions testing their ability to do sums and think logically.
The five people with the best results have now been named – and Mr Hemming (Lib Dem Yardley) is the only MP to make the grade. Other top performers included councillors and civil servants.
Think-tank Reform, which organised the quizzes, has also revealed that the average score at the Lib Dem conference was 83 per cent, compared with 71 per cent at the Tory event in Birmingham and 65 per cent at Labour’s conference.
