Andrew Haldenby, Director of Reform, appeared on BBC Panorama last night to discuss budget cuts to emergency services.
Andrew argued: “The police have had thirty years of steady spending increases, their budgets compared to ten years ago are two-thirds higher than they used to be…the hope is that this financial pressure, which is really overdue, gets police forces to think again about how they organise themselves” (BBC Panorama; 4:40 and 14:09 mins).
